Why does FAC exist?.
Our Mission Statement is simple and
straightforward: we want to help developers,
project managers, landlords and tenants to
achieve the HIGHEST LEVELS OF QUALITY and
comfort at the LOWEST POSSIBLE COST
However, it is far too often the case
that...
Poor design, installation and testing and
commissioning (T+C) of electro-mechanical
building services equipment leads to poor
performance, discomfort and inefficiency.
Plant and equipment often fail to meet
required performance levels, occupants
complain of unacceptable conditions, and
building managers face increased maintenance
costs, all because the plant and equipment
serving their building have never been
properly tested and commissioned.
Building Management Systems are often
inadequate or outdated. Inadequate testing
and calibration makes their operation
untrustworthy.
Witnessing and verification is often
undertaken by non-specialist engineers who
lack the precise "know-how" to ensure
adequate performance is delivered.
The documentation package upon which end
users must rely for operation and
maintenance information is often incomplete
or inadequate.
Installed services often run improperly and
unreliably. Fuel bills are unnecessarily
inflated because the technicians and
engineers engaged to commission services
lack the specialist knowledge and experience
to ensure optimum levels of performance and
efficiency.
FAC was formed in order to help elevate the
standards of Building Services Installations
in the Hong Kong SAR, and to help
developers, managers, landlords and tenants
enjoy the enhanced levels of operation,
improvements in environmental conditions
plus savings in energy costs which are the
direct result of full and thorough
professional practices.
The achievement of such an objective
requires a spirit of motivation,
co-operation and pro-activity. We work
closely with project staff at all levels to
ensure an outcome of timely completion and
